7th and 8th Grade Choir

The Forestview Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Choirs are non-auditioned choirs. Anyone in 7th or 8th grade is welcome to join choir each year. The 7th and 8th grade choirs are separated by voice type. There are two choirs in each grade, a Treble choir for students with a treble vocal range, and a changing voice choir for students who are going through their voice change. Each choir meets every-other day for 45 minutes. 
Forestview Middle School, located in Baxter, Minnesota, is home to over 2000 students. All students in 5th-8th grades in the Brainerd Public Schools attend Forestview. Forestview has six choirs: two 6th grade choirs, two 7th grade choirs, and two 8th grade choirs. Choir classes at Forestview place an emphasis on learning to read music in a choral score, further developing healthy singing skills, and demonstrating achievements in public performances. 7th and 8th grade choir classes place a special focus on singing in unison, two, and three part harmony; reading music; and learning the basics of music theory.

Concert Expectations

Choir is a performance-based class, and every student in choir is required to attend every performance. If you foresee a conflict with a concert, you MUST contact Mr. Aulie or Mrs. Bingham as soon as possible, and we will assign an alternate method of making up these points. In case of conflict with a sport or activity, district policy is that students will attend the concert. Excused absences must be made up within one week of the concert or upon return to school. If the assignment is not completed or if the absence is unexcused, this will result in a grade reduction of one letter grade.  Our concerts will be held in the Forestview Cafetorium. Please mark these dates on your calendar now and share with family, friends, and coaches immediately!
