Description
Acoustic Guitar is the study of non-electric, classical and finger-style guitar technique for individual, small and large group settings. This class meets during 2nd or 7th period for one semester. Students will earn 1 art credit upon completion. Students are required to perform in one Orchestra/Guitar concert per semester.
Classical guitars and books are supplied by the school and will be used during the class period everyday. Personal guitars may be brought to class later in the semester, with teacher approval.

Reading Music and Guitar TABStudents will learn how to read notes on the treble staff and how to follow guitar tab.

Chords and Rhythm GuitarStudents will learn several chords and strum patterns along with finger-picking chords.

Compose 12-Bar Blues melodyStudents will use their music reading skills and compose a melody for a 12-Bar Blues rhythm guitar accompaniment.
