Concert Band

The Concert Band is open to all band students grade 10 – 12.  The band meets everyday and focuses on individual and ensemble sound, music terminology and other musical constructs.  The band has several performances throughout the year including one in early fall, a holiday concert, large group contest in early spring and another concert in late spring. Students also have the ability to participate in several local and regional honor bands, and solo and ensemble contest. The uniform for concert band men is black pants with black socks, black dress shoes, black long sleeve button up shirt with a black tie. Women should wear black pants with a black blouse with at least ¾ length sleeves. Members of the concert band are also expected to participate in the Warrior Pep Band.

It is HIGHLY encouraged that each Concert Band student purchase a Smartmusic subscription on their home computer. First and foremost, Smartmusic is the most innovative personal practice tool ever created. Secondly, Concert Band will have numerous assignments that will need to be submitted through Smartmusic. Students may submit these assignments using the school's practice room subscriptions. However, it is quicker and easier to complete and submit these assignments at home. Furthermore, those students who will be participating in solo/ensemble contest will find Smartmusic to be an indispensable tool in their preparation.
